F.U.K. is one of the new Federal Universities established by the Federal Government of Nigeria to increase access and ensure equity among all the States of the Federation and the Federal Capital Territory in terms of the presence of Federal Tertiary Institutions.

To be eligible to write the Federal University, Kashere post UTME screening exercise, candidates must choose Federal University, Kashere as most preferred (1^st choice) in the last UTME and scored a minimum of 160 points.
